FAQs

  • My editing process depends on the length of my editing queue. I operate my business on a “first in, first out” manner. I think that’s only fair.

I do send sneak peek photos within 24 hours of your session to all my clients (mini sessions excluded), and you are more than welcome to post, print or download them if you like.

Normally, photos are turned around within a 2 week period. I will keep you updated if my turnaround time has lengthened, and 100% let you know before booking if it looks like it will be longer. (If I don’t bring it up during booking, you’re looking at a 2 week turnaround).

If you need your photos ready by a certain date please let me know BEFORE you book with me so I can let you know if your timeframe is possible.

  • Yes and No.

I like to include both the blurry edits and the clear versions of your edited photos in your gallery. Most of the time I specifically add grain (what looks like bumps and scratches) to your photos on purpose because I personally love it, but if i’ve done that I’ll usually include the crisp, non-grainy image in your gallery aswell.

Occasionally I find a beautiful moment in your gallery but your image has turned out blurry, either from moving too fast, my camera settings or an unfortunate shake of the hand. In these instances you might receive a blurry photo, possibly with some artistry thrown in beacuse I felt it was just too important a moment not to deliver.

For me, seeing blurry, grainy photos makes me feel like I’m more a part of the moment and not just looking at a photograph, it helps me remember the sounds, the feelings, the time of year. But I know it’s not for everyone.

If you’re like me and you really love the blurry, romanticized look let me know and I’ll be sure to include more of those than I normally would.

  • I’m so glad you found a spot you like! If your location is one of the many well known spots in the area, I will just share the location information with you. These are spots like The Ranch House and The Barn on base, that many photographers know and love. I’m also happy to share the general area of a location (like “oh, that one is located in Vista” or “that’s on Camp Pendleton) to give you an idea of how long it would take to travel there.

My more secluded, lesser known locations are, for the moment, secrets - known only to myself and my wonderful clients so they can remain the lesser known, secluded locations.

I and other photographers, spend a lot of their time and energy finding new, beautiful locations to suggest to our clients. As my booking process does not require the selection of a location prior to booking, I’m happy to discuss all the possible location options and talk about where they are AFTER your contract has been signed and your retainer is paid.

  • No.

I photograph true-to-life images and don’t intend to change any part of your body during the editing process.

I do remove blemishes (like pimples and scrapes) when they are obvious, because they don’t stay a part of your body forever, but I don’t tighten waistlines, remove freckles, color correct sunburn, reduce the size of chins, change eye or hair colors or swap out heads.

There are many reasons for this, but the main 2 are:

    1. I think you’re already STUNNING! I honestly fall in love with how you look, how you’re dressed, how you look and interact with your partner/kids/pets. And it’s a part of your life story, so I don’t go out of my way to pretend your life was any other way.

    2. It takes additional (sometimes a lot of additional) time and energy to make those changes in photoshop after your session and at the moment, I am unable to accommodate these requests.

  • There are a number of factors that make up the “why” of all of my session prices.

Newborn Sessions with me will feature a selection of curated props and swaddles, which is ever growing and changing. I have also taken the time to attend a Newborn Safety class (which should be the minimum standard for ALL newborn photographers), and am planning on continuing to attend newborn trainings and posing classes, which are an additional cost to my business.

On top of all that, Newborn Sessions are a little harder to predict, and thus can take a little more time if your tiny human decides to be on the uncooperative side.

  • Right now I photograph newborns in lifestyle or natural poses. This is mainly due to the fact that posing the tiny humans in pretty buckets and having their hands on their chins and such require a little more training and practice than I feel I currently have.

I am also limited to the props I have available in my inventory.

I NEVER want you to feel like your baby will be unsafe or be put in a life threatening position during a newborn session, so for now I stick to images of baby being held, loved, on their back, in my bassinet, in their crib, possibly on their tummy, or in my basket on their back.

  • Yes! Of course you can!

However, your little one won’t get the same special treatment they would receive at a Newborn Session at a Family Shoot.

For family sessions, I leave all the props and swaddles at home and we focus on your family as a whole. This does include close up photos of each of your children, couples photos of you and your partner if you want them, and if baby is present, they will most definitely be loved on, we just won’t focus our entire time on them.

  • Sort of.

I do have a special package only available to couples and families who have access to Camp Pendleton.

It’s called my Whirlwind Session, and can be found on my services page.

  • In a word… No. My current prices are a reflection of my experience and the quality of the work you should expect to receive.

But hear me out…While I can’t offer you a discounted session right now, I do offer tons of promotions throughout the year and have regular sales. I also run occasional giveaways and offer freebies from time to time. In order to be able to do all those things and still keep my business afloat, my prices have to stay right where they are for most clients.

Follow me on Facebook for updates on seasonal sales and promotions.

  • Oh no!

Rest assured there will be more sales happening throughout the year. I always plan more sales.

If you reach out to me directly about the post you saw I’m also happy to let you know if a sale is still running or if another one has started.
