Birth Stories

Your Experience

Birth is such a vulnerable moment. I wouldn’t have wanted strangers in the room with me for the birth of my children.

All Birth Story bookings begin with either an initial session (maybe you’ve booked with me for maternity or pregnancy announcement, maybe I’ve photographed your family or a previous newborn session) or with an introductory meeting (coffee/lunch/buy me dinner before I let you see me push a baby out vibes) where your booking will be finalized.

I like to be a fly on the wall in the delivery room and don’t give any direction at all if possible. How involved I am with your experience is totally up to you. Typically I like to be as quiet as possible to give you your moments with your loved ones (and because birth is hard, mama, you don’t need to be asked a bunch of questions), I am just present to document your delivery.

I love a good birth story.

The first time I was pregnant we lost our little girl sometime between 18 and 25 weeks. It broke our hearts.

My daughter is our rainbow baby - born at 39 weeks. I was induced after honestly the best medical care and had a 24 hour labor, including 2 hours of pushing. I got an epidural and pitocin was required.

My son was a stubborn one. He flipped all the way until delivery (which was a non-emergent, but also last minute extremely stressful for me c-section). I have some thoughts about C-Section births and the mamas who go through them. I will reserve them for those who ask. The experience was altogether different from a vaginal delivery.

Both were beautiful. Both changed my life.
